Let's Religion

Art and religion are closely intertwined in world history. Are religions today still interested in art (in their name or as a commission)? the artist collective Transquinquennal and artists Denicolai & Provost addressed this question to all official and unofficial religions in Belgium. In a kind of art fair they exhibit the results of that survey. this research lays bare the following questions: Has art really become autonomous now that it is detached from its commissioner? Or is the illusion of freedom only a myth that the prevailing ideology uses to lull everyone to sleep?
