Daniella Géo

Daniella Géo holds a Doctoral and a Master’s degrees in Film and Audiovisual Studies from the Université de la Sorbonne Nouvelle – Paris III. She is curator, researcher and lecturer. In 2019 and 2020, Géo was curator at HISK – Higher Institute for Fine Arts, Ghent, and is preparing the HISK participation at sonsbeek 20–>24 public programme Conjunctions as well as at Kunstenfestival Aardenburg. Géo has served as curator at the 4e Biennale de Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, and at the 5e Biennale internationale de la Photographie et des Arts visuels de Liège. Curatorial projects include Roger Ballen’s retrospective, Transfigurações (Museu de Arte Moderna, Rio de Janeiro, Museu Oscar Niemeyer, Curitiba, Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo, Caixa Cultural, Brasília), Six Solo Exhibitions(Station Museum of Contemporary Art, FotoFest, Houston – co-curator), the group exhibitions TRANS (University of Johannesburg Art Gallery), Álbum de Família (Centro de Arte Hélio Oiticica, Rio de Janeiro), amongst others. Géo has a special interest in the political, transformative and aggregative potential of art. Lives in Antwerp.
