The work of Gerard Herman (Ghent, °1989) cannot be summarised in a single medium. His everyday life and surroundings generally form the basis for graphics, installations, performances, sound compositions, animated films and radio broadcasts. Through the use of his native language and the necessary dose of humour, his works seem to offer bite-sized answers to human experiences such as success and failure. Yet these answers are not finalised: each work is only a starting point from which further meanings can be generated.
