Tamás Kaszás

Tamás Kaszás was born in Dunaújváros, Hungary in 1976. Through his work he explores social experiments and artistic utopias for which he creates complex installations and public artworks. Using traditional and new media, as well as mostly cheap, recycled materials that are able to resist technological and societal collapse, Kaszás touches upon themes of ecology and collectivity, breakdown and survival, self-sustainability and autonomy, folk science and fictional anthropology.

Tamás Kaszás has had solo shows in Galleria collicaligreggi, Catania (2017), Museu Calouste Gulbenkian, Lisbon (2017), Muzeum Sztuki, Lodz (2016), Kisterem, Budapest (2016), Galerie Krinzinger, Vienna (2014), Kassák Museum, Budapest (2014). His work was part of group exhibitions at Künstlerhaus KM, Graz (2017), OFF-Biennále Budapest (2017), Bucharest Biennale 7 (2016), the Marta Herford museum, Herford (2015), 19th Biennale of Sydney, Sydney (2014) and the 12th Istanbul Biennial (2011).
